Frequently asked questions

Planning your first visit to The Yoga Den? Here are a few helpful things to know.

I’m new to yoga. Which class should I choose?

Any of our classes welcome beginners as well as experienced students. Explore our class descriptions to find a practice that appeals to you.

Do I need to be flexible?

No—you don’t need to arrive already flexible. Teachers can offer variations and use props to help you find an appropriate way to practise.

What types of yoga do you offer?

Our class styles include Aerial, Ashtanga, Hatha Slow Flow, Vinyasa Flow, Iyengar, Kundalini and Yin. Visit our Classes page to learn more and check the timetable for availability.

What should I do when I arrive at the studio?

Please enter quietly as there may be a class on downstairs, or a therapy taking place upstairs. Please remove your shoes on arrival and place them on the shoe stand. Hooks are available for coats and bags. All phones and valuables should remain with your shoes, bags or coats in the communal area. Once everyone has arrived for the class, the front door is locked to help keep your belongings secure.

If this is your first visit, please wait in the communal area, where your teacher will greet you shortly. Please do not head downstairs until invited, as another class may still be in progress.

Thank you for helping us maintain a calm and welcoming space for everyone.

How do I book a class?

Start with our Book a Class page. Some teachers take bookings through our online system; others arrange bookings directly. Follow the information for your chosen class.

Where is The Yoga Den?

You’ll find us at 27 Lightwood Road, Buxton, Derbyshire, SK17 7BJ.

Do you offer classes for children?

Unfortunately not at the moment.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please cancel at least three hours before your class starts to keep your class credit. If you cancel less than three hours before the start time, you’ll lose the credit for that booking.

Is there parking at the studio?

Parking is available on the street outside the studio and on the surrounding streets. We don’t have designated studio parking. The bay with 2 spaces directly outside the front door have a one-hour limit, so please check parking signs and allow enough time for your visit.
